Eagle FC Recruiting Update

As we continue to navigate through these unprecedented times with COVID-19, college recruiting becomes the primary focus.

Eagle FC and I are devoted to assisting every player with their ability, motivation, and desire to participate at the collegiate level.  Together, we believe there is a quality college program (e.g., NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, & NJCAA) for every player passionate about the game and who excels in the classroom.  If you are hardworking, have the drive, and you’re a dedicated soccer player who is resolute about playing in college, we’ll commit to helping you get to college and fulfill your dreams.

I want to encourage each student-athlete to reach out to me with any questions or concerns about the college recruiting process. Please schedule a time that works best for you and your family!  I am excited to work with each Eagle FC family to help their student-athletes continue their athletic career, but importantly their academic career at the collegiate level.

LATEST INFORMATION FROM THE NCAA

  • Division I Programs: The NCAA has suspended all in-Person Recruiting for all Division I Schools until April 15, 2021. Coaches are not allowed to meet face-to-face with a recruit off-campus or do any in-person scouting. Recruiting will not stop completely; coaches and recruits can still communicate over email, phone, text, and social media.
  • Division II Programs: Resumed their normal recruiting calendars on September 1, 2020. This means that all forms of contact, including in-person recruiting, are allowed unless specified restrictions exist within the university/college.
  • Division III Programs: Do not have official recruiting rules or calendars in place, allowing potential recruits to communicate with coaches both digitally and in-person unless specified restrictions exist within the university/college.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR ME?

  • The impact concerning on-campus contact:  If you have arranged to meet with a college/university coach (on- or off-campus), please contact them directly to reschedule your visit.
  • The impact regarding off-campus contact:  While all off-campus recruiting has been suspended, coaches and recruits can still communicate via email, phone, and private messages like DMs as long as they follow NCAA recruiting rules.
  • NCAA DI is currently the only division level that does not allow in-person recruiting.  NCAA DII and DIII, NAIA, and NJCAA level coaches can participate in all regular recruiting activities, including attending camps, tournaments, and recruiting events.  If you contact coaches at these programs, we recommend checking directly with them to ensure face-to-face meetings or in-person scouting are not canceled or postponed.

WHAT CAN I DO?

  • Reevaluate List of Schools – Take a step back and go over all the schools you are interested in. Ask yourself which schools are genuinely recruiting you, as well as which schools you can genuinely see yourself living at for four years.
  • Contact Coaches – Reach out to coaches via phone, email, text, and social media direct messages. Contact. Recruiting Rules still apply.
  • Highlight Tapes – Spend this time to develop a highlight tape if you do not already have one.
