Mechanicsburg, PA After winning the USYS / EDP South Atlantic Conference Red division in May, with an 8-0-1 division record, the Eagle FC U19 boys qualified for the USYS Eastern Regional tournament in West Virginia.
During the Eastern Regionals group stage in Barboursville, WV, Eagle FC defeated Peak Football Academy of Vermont 4-1, NLS Ajax of Maryland 4-0, and earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw with the New York Hota Bavarians of New York East.
As the winners of Group A, the team advanced to the semifinal in Charleston, WV and defeated Bethesda Blue of Maryland 1-0. The Regional final was played on Tuesday July 2nd vs. Cedar Stars of New Jersey. The match had some great goals, quality play, and late drama, with Eagle FC losing a heartbreaker in overtime and just missing an opportunity to play for the McGuire Cup at the USYS Nationals in Orlando, FL.
