Mechanicsburg, PA On Friday night Eagle FC took on Long Island Rough Riders in the USL W Eastern Conference Semifinals at Mountain View Middle School.

The Rough Riders would come out strong to start the game keeping the play in their attacking half. Eagle FC goalkeeper Malene Nielsen would make a great 1v1 save to keep the score level. However it would be in the 13th minute the Rough Riders would find the back of the net making the score 1-0 to the visitors. Nielsen would make another save denying the opportunity to increase the lead. Eagle FC would have some opportunities in the opponent’s half however not able to capitalize. Rough Riders find the back of the net for a 2-0 lead to close out the half.

The second half Eagle FC would come out hungry looking to level the score. Both teams would go back and forth, but it wasn’t until Aminah Baruwa would give Eagle Fc some hope as she found the back of the net with a right footed strike from outside of the box making the score 2-1 in the 67th minute. Eagle FC would fight to the end but unfortunately not be able to come up with the equalizer before the end of regulation.

Eagle FC’s season would come to an end after Friday night’s result with a record of 10-1-1 in the regular season and captured the Mid-Atlantic Division title for the second year in a row.
