New for 2020-21, players will be provided two practice/game jerseys (black & red – our club colors). Black shorts and socks will be available for purchase. The purchase of shorts and socks is optional.
Teams will be determined using existing Eagle F.C. rules and policies. Being assigned to a particular team is based on the following criteria:
• Date of Registration/Payment
• Teams with Openings
Eagle F.C. will make every effort to accommodate special requests regarding player placement; however, we are unable to guarantee which age group/team the players will be placed on. Placing a player on a team cannot be guaranteed by any club official, coach, or volunteer.
Practices and games will be held at various locations throughout our community. These locations may include Creekview Park, Hampden Township Park, Stony Ridge Park, Sporting Hill Station Sports Complex, Joe Carr Park, Cumberland Valley Schools, and possibly other sites as well.
The Eagle F.C. staff hopes to communicate these details through the volunteer age group coordinators and coaches. Players can log onto their BYGA account at eagle-fc.byga.net for details on their schedules.
Yes! We need willing volunteer head/assistant coaches for all recreation teams. Our program is only successful because of outstanding and dedicated volunteers. Head coaches are responsible for organizing and conducting quality training sessions (e.g., practices) that are enjoyable and educational. Assistant coaches are needed to help administer weekly practices and oversee weekend matches.
Volunteer Coaching Responsibilities:
• Willingness to learn, have fun, and put kids first.
• Attend pre-season training and orientation/information meetings.
• Take part in education/training courses when offered/available.
• Set-up and conduct quality practices that encourage learning, fun, and enjoyment.
• Obtain clearances and background checks in a timely manner.
Remember, the recreation program is about emphasizing collaboration, teaching the game, and having fun. It is a kids first, player-centric model with a community atmosphere.
There will be positive changes regarding support for our volunteer coaches. Meetings will be offered before the season begins to communicate program details, present sample training activity ideas/concepts, answer questions, etc. Trainings will incorporate curriculum materials from Eagle F.C staff (DOC) and from coaches/trainers from the US Soccer Federation/Foundation. Eagle F.C. is also working with EPYSA to provide USSF grassroots training courses.
