Inclement Weather/Rain - Thunder & Lightning Policies

INCLEMENT WEATHER/RAIN POLICY

If/When the area receives at least 1/2 inch of rain within 24-hours, the local municipalities (e.g., townships) and school districts close field facilities. There must be roughly a 24-hour dry period following such precipitation.

THUNDER AND LIGHTNING POLICY

If/When thunder and/or lightning occurs during a training session or match, the general rule is to immediately exit the field, seek shelter, and wait for 30 minutes. There should be no thunder and/or lightning for 30 minutes before returning to practice and/or match activities. Should thunder and/or lightning take place at any point during the initial 30 minute pause, remain sheltered in place and reset the clock for 30 additional minutes.

COMMUNICATION PROCESS

If/When inclement weather/rain, and/or thunder and lightning occur, Eagle FC will announce field closures no later than 3:00 p.m. on weekdays and at least 2 hours before the start of weekend matches. An email from the club administrator or registrar will be sent to all recreational age group coordinators, and recreation/competitive head coaches should the need arise to close fields. All field closures will be posted on the Eagle FC website if/when necessary.

A coach may cancel practice after Eagle FC’s cut off time but will notify all players.
